Italy postpones ban on new TV sets without DVB-T2
Wednesday, December 24th, 2014Italy’s Council of Ministers (Consiglio dei Ministri) has put on hold a requirement that all new televisions in the country be DVB-T2 compliant. The rule was planned to come into force on January 1, 2015, with retailers having six months to clear any non-compliant stock.
There are currently no DVB-T2 transmissions in Italy, with none planned, so the ruling was considered premature. A new schedule is to be announced in the near future.
