SUWANEE, Ga. and LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Windstream (NASDAQ:WIN), a leading provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions, is deploying NVG343 residential gateways and VIP Series IP set-tops from ARRIS Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARRS) to power its next-generation Kinetic television service.
Kinetic, which launched April 15, is available to more than 50,000 homes in Lincoln, Nebraska, and offers a new way of watching television that leverages the company’s 100% fiber-backed network. The ARRIS NVG343 gateway and set-tops deliver ultra-fast wireless connections that support HD video streaming and whole-home DVR — for high-quality digital TV anywhere in the house.
“With Kinetic, customers receive fast, high-quality, interactive television with modern features that people expect from their service provider,” said Bryan Brooks, Vice President, Business Development, Video at Windstream. “ARRIS has been a great partner in helping Windstream deliver the whole-home interactive experience that makes Kinetic a superior alternative to satellite and cable.”
“ARRIS continues to raise the bar in whole home wireless IP video delivery,” said Keith Kelley, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Telco CPE, ARRIS. “Our gateway and set-top solutions use the latest Wi-Fi technology to deliver high-quality digital TV, while simplifying installation and making the services easier for consumers to use. We’re thrilled to work with Windstream to introduce next-generation digital TV to its subscribers.”
