Evolution Digital Announces Partnership with NCTC to Make Available to Members IP Hybrid Set-Top Box Powered by TiVo

CENTENNIAL, Colo. — Evolution Digital and the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) today announced a deal to cost-effectively make available to NCTC members Evolution Digital’s IP Hybrid Set-Top Box (STB) powered by TiVo® Inc., a leader in the advanced television entertainment market.

Evolution Digital IP Hybrid STB Powered by TiVo Inc

In July 2015, TiVo’s software was integrated onto Evolution Digital’s low-cost IP Hybrid HD STB. Now with NCTC’s Bravo platform, which acts an intermediary between Tier 2 and Tier 3 cable operators and TiVo, NCTC members can purchase the TiVo-powered Evolution Digital IP Hybrid STB with full functionality at a lower cost. Evolution Digital’s IP Hybrid STB powered by TiVo is also available to the wider NCTC membership base not currently operating on the Bravo platform.

“Our IP Hybrid STB powered by TiVo integrates the operator’s cable channel line-up with the leading OTT services to provide viewers with a seamless viewing experience,” said Marc Cohen, executive vice president of sales. “Our great relationships with TiVo and NCTC now give operators with membership in the NCTC an affordable option for delivering our leading technology without integration fees, but with all the same innovative features TiVo offers.”

Additionally, Evolution Digital IP Hybrid STBs can be configured to support an all-IP platform, including live linear, Video on Demand and network DVR on one platform with TiVo’s world-renowned universal search, navigation and recommendations features.

“NCTC is proud to partner with Evolution Digital to give our members another way to offer a superior entertainment experience,” said Rich Fickle, CEO and president at NCTC. “We developed the Bravo platform to allow cable operators access to what their customers are asking for, but at a price point that is accessible for the provider.”
