Samba Tech and Irdeto Partner to Secure Online Video Content for Latin American Operators

SÃO PAULO — Irdeto, the world leader in digital platform security, today announced a strategic partnership with Samba Tech, the largest independent distributor of online videos in Latin America. The partnership enables the secure delivery of online video content for Latin American operators by combining Irdeto Rights and Samba Tech’s video distribution services. The companies also announced its first joint customer, Universal Church in Brazil. Universal Church has 5,000 churches in Brazil and over 12 million members worldwide, and recently, launched its own OTT video platform called Univer Video. Universal Church is working with Samba Tech and Irdeto to securely deliver premium video content to Univer Video subscribers.

Univer Video is the largest Christian video platform in Latin America, where users can consume several videos through a monthly subscription and TVOD. Through this service, subscribers can watch OTT content on tablets, mobile devices or on their computer. The Irdeto Rights solution provides Universal Church with multi-DRM support for FairPlay, PlayReady and Widevine. The partnership enables them to deliver even more online video content to a broad range of devices while also integrating with their current stream solution.
