The SVOD Report: Charting the growth in SVOD services across the UK
BARB has published a new white paper, The SVOD Report: Charting the growth in SVOD services across the UK.
We’re often asked about SVOD services: how popular are they and can we measure viewing to them?
Our panel data show that unmatched viewing (viewing 28 days+ after broadcast and non-broadcast viewing), which includes SVOD activity, is increasing. While we can’t yet measure actual viewing to SVOD services without the cooperation of the service providers, we can get a sense of the popularity of these services from our Establishment Survey, which asks questions about SVOD service take-up.
This new white paper examines the latest Establishment Survey data (Q3 2017) to provide an insight into SVOD subscriptions across the UK. It investigates questions such as:
- How many UK households subscribe to at least one SVOD service?
- Which SVOD service is growing the fastest?
- How does SVOD penetration vary by region, or across different television platforms?
- Which age group has the highest level of access to SVOD services?
