Law&Crime, the only 24/7 network dedicated to live courtroom trial coverage, has turned to Simplestream, the leader in live, live-2-VOD and on-demand OTT services, to enhance the content delivery capabilities of its multiscreen service to better cater to providers and engage with new audiences. This partnership follows a recent rollout expansion of Law&Crime across several new OTT distribution platforms.
“As we continue to expand the breadth of our live trial coverage, leading commentary and rich analysis, it is critical for us to have the best technology in place, so we can give our viewers a top quality viewing experience,” said Juan Miguel Bassalik, Chief Technical Officer of Law&Crime. “Simplestream has given us all that we were looking for – the opportunity to generate new advertising revenue and reach more audiences on a wider range of platforms, while reducing the complexity of our workflow and providing us with an automated, streamlined solution.”
To enhance the trial network’s service, Simplestream has automated the channel’s Live2VOD workflow and is currently managing its encoding and feed syndication. This complements a wide remit of features and capabilities that Law&Crime is now equipped with – including live streaming, Live2VOD, video hosting, video management, dynamic ad insertion and live clipping. The service is available on most of the major OTT platforms including Philo, Pluto, Xumo, TVPlayer, iOS, Android, tvOS, Amazon Fire, and many more.
“Law&Crime is a unique content offering; it is the only service of its kind that gives viewers a window into the action-filled, dramatic world of crime, courtrooms and trials,” said Dan Finch, Chief Commercial Officer of Simplestream. “It’s not surprising that such an engaging channel has so much viewer interest, so to harness and grow that interest, flexible and future-proofed technology is needed. This project showcases how our live-2-VOD and syndication workflow can help leading content owners like Law&Crime keep pace with both the market and consumer demand.”
