Korea adds 534,000 pay TV subscribers in 2H 2018
Thursday, May 9th, 2019GWACHEON — South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) has announced pay TV subscriber numbers for the country for the second half of 2018. At the end of 2018 there were 32.5 million pay TV subscribers in Korea, with IPTV having the largest share having overtaken cable TV in late 2017. Over 534,000 susbcribers were added in the second half of 2018.
The market leader, KT, increased its market share from 20.67% to 21.12% in the second half. IPTV gained share at the expense of both cable and satellite.
