Friend MTS Extends Deal with United Media to Protect Premium Sports Content
LONDON, UK — Global content protection specialist Friend MTS has extended its long-standing relationship with United Media to provide anti-piracy services for Novasports channels in Greece.
The Novasports linear sports channels – Novasports Prime, Novasports 1, Novasports 2 and Novasports 3 – are protected against content theft and piracy by Friend MTS’s industry-leading global monitoring services. Using fingerprint-based content recognition to identify illegal streams of live content in just a few seconds, Friend MTS is helping United Media to detect, deter and disable illegal redistribution.
“Tackling piracy is a strategic priority for broadcasters, as they fight to identify and remove content from illegal streaming services to protect revenue and subscriber experience,” said Jonathan Friend, Chief Product Officer, Friend MTS. “Our continued work with United Media is testament to the focus they place on tackling illegal pirate operations.”
“We take a proactive approach to preventing content theft and piracy, which is why we’re continuing our close collaboration with Friend MTS to protect live sports assets broadcast across Novasports channels,” said Duško Martić, Head of Content Security at United Media. “Working with Friend MTS, we are able to very quickly detect pirate activity and take action against illegal streams.”
