Friend MTS Expands Technology Partnerships to Extend Content Protection Portfolio

LONDON — Global content protection specialist, Friend MTS, has announced several new technology partnerships as it continues to expand its portfolio of complementary, best-of-breed anti-piracy and content security technologies. These partnerships will allow Friend MTS and its partners to provide current and future customers with fully integrated, end-to-end content protection solutions.

Friend MTS partners with industry leaders to bring the best technical and commercial solutions to customers around the world. This latest announcement welcomes Axinom and castLabs to the Friend MTS partnership programme. By integrating with leading solution providers across the industry, Friend MTS is able to provide customers with true end-to-end security and comprehensive protection against content theft and piracy.

Founded in 2001 in Germany, Axinom provides software products for content-first platforms. In media, Axinom products enable encoding, content management, security via multi-DRM, and monetization. The partnership between Friend MTS and Axinom enables consumers to receive complementary watermarking and monitoring solutions to Axinom’s DRM. This partnership will also create opportunities for E2E DRM and watermarking protection for both live and VOD content.

This offers enhanced protection as a DRM take down has hardened security and will also permanently block DRM requests from devices seen to be illegally streaming. castLabs’ PRESTOplay video player technology also works with the Friend MTS client-side watermark solution for fast integration and deployment.
