Friend MTS Expands Technology Partnerships to Extend Content Protection Portfolio
LONDON — Global content protection specialist, Friend MTS, has announced several new technology partnerships as it continues to expand its portfolio of complementary, best-of-breed anti-piracy and content security technologies. These partnerships will allow Friend MTS and its partners to provide current and future customers with fully integrated, end-to-end content protection solutions.
Friend MTS partners with industry leaders to bring the best technical and commercial solutions to customers around the world. This latest announcement welcomes Axinom and castLabs to the Friend MTS partnership programme. By integrating with leading solution providers across the industry, Friend MTS is able to provide customers with true end-to-end security and comprehensive protection against content theft and piracy.
“Growing the community of Friend MTS technology partners allows us to provide holistic content protection solutions to a broader customer base across industries like sports, entertainment, and corporate communications. We now have a network of industry leaders that we are proud to work with around the world,” said Dennis Scott, Director Channel of Sales, Friend MTS. “Our primary focus is to help customers protect their premium video content, and by collaborating with complementary technology providers we are able to extend our portfolio. In addition to our core services of watermarking, monitoring and anti-piracy solutions, our partner network enables us to offer DRM, conditional access management, and every component of a highly-effective content security platform.”
Founded in 2001 in Germany, Axinom provides software products for content-first platforms. In media, Axinom products enable encoding, content management, security via multi-DRM, and monetization. The partnership between Friend MTS and Axinom enables consumers to receive complementary watermarking and monitoring solutions to Axinom’s DRM. This partnership will also create opportunities for E2E DRM and watermarking protection for both live and VOD content.
“We have always strived to provide our customers and the industry with the most robust solutions for content protection. Our ever-going efforts to thwart piracy involve building a highly secure digital supply chain for video content”, says Johannes Jauch, CTO, Axinom. “Combining the forensic watermarking solutions of Friend MTS with our multi-DRM based content protection will ensure that our customers’ premium content is secured across all platforms.”
castLabs pioneers software and cloud services for digital video markets worldwide to easily enable premium movie and TV distribution. Deploying castLabs’ multi-DRM service, DRMtoday, with Friend MTS monitoring and watermarking allows detection of illegal content and the ability to then take down streams via DRM. This offers enhanced protection as a DRM take down has hardened security and will also permanently block DRM requests from devices seen to be illegally streaming. castLabs’ PRESTOplay video player technology also works with the Friend MTS client-side watermark solution for fast integration and deployment.
“To strengthen security for live content streaming we wanted to work with Friend MTS due to their trusted monitoring and watermarking solutions. This collaboration perfectly complements our DRMtoday and PRESTOplay solutions to offer customers an added layer of security when distributing premium live content and to boost their anti-piracy measures,” said Thasso Griebel, Lead Player Developer, at castLabs.
