Amino Communications (LSE: AMO), the world leading IPTV STB platform supplier, has signed a Global Cooperation Agreement with Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC), the leading telecom supplier. The agreement will offer Amino an extended global market reach, including new regions, by offering a 100 per cent compatible solution with the most widely deployed IPTV STBs in the market.

The agreement comes as Ericsson announces new middleware to be rolled out alongside Amino’s award-winning range of STBs. The agreement between the two companies enables initial integration with the AmiNET130 and the newly-launched AmiNET130M, STBs that support High Definition (HD) H.264 video streams. The AmiNET530, HD H.264 IPTV Personal Video Recorder (PVR) and the AmiNET125, the world’s first standard definition multi-codec STB designed for IPTV and Internet TV applications, will be available soon after.

Mike Greenall, VP Channels and Partners at Amino, said: “Amino’s STBs will not only be equipped to handle the new offering but also bring something innovative to the table. Amino ticks all the future-proofing boxes, with STBs that are reliable, can be installed with minimal time and cost, and are proven in IPTV deployments across the world.”

“This is an important move for us as it strengthens a key long-term partner relationship,” said Andrew Burke, CEO at Amino. “Integrating Amino with Ericsson’s new middleware and IPTV Solution will offer the market a truly exciting viewer experience, delivered across our highly desirable and innovative product range.”
