Antenova Brings Digital TV to Mobile Devices
Monday, February 16th, 2009CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom — Antenova Ltd, the integrated antenna and RF solutions company, announced today their tuneable Mobile TV antenna and reference design for the reception of Digital Mobile TV in small form factor devices for the global markets.
“Mobile TV is the latest feature to be integrated into mobile devices, but integration of an internal antenna remains a difficult problem to solve,” stated Greg McCray, CEO of Antenova. “Antenova’s adaptively tuned internal antenna for mobile TV is a perfect complement to low-power mobile TV solutions for CMMB, DVB-T, DVB-H, T-DMB and ISDB-T, such as the one offered by DiBcom with whom we have worked in developing this antenna.”
Antenova’s tuneable Mobile TV antenna is an internal antenna designed for the reception of digital UHF TV services on small mobile devices, such as handheld TVs, smart phones, portable navigation devices (PNDs) and personal digital assistants (PDAs). It is designed to tune over the UHF 470-860MHz band, so it covers the UHF frequencies used for DVB-T, DVB-H, ATSC and ISDB-T. The antenna’s operating frequency is tuned interactively using a pulse-width modulation (PWM) output from the receiver to ensure that it delivers the best possible signal quality on any platform.
McCray added, “Antenova continues to deliver innovative and market leading antennas and RF solutions to address existing and emerging high growth markets. Working with an industry leader such as DiBcom enables us to broaden our offerings and further establish ourselves as a market leader in antennas and RF solutions for wireless communication and consumer electronic devices.”
Antenova will be showcasing the tuneable Mobile TV antenna, along with their complete range of high performing antennas and RF solutions Mobile World Congress 2009, Hall 1 Stand D58, in Barcelona this week.
