Telecable, a operator providing an 80-channel cable TV service in the Asturias region of Spain, has announced a new interactive television service with the name of ‘Tedi’.

The service allows viewers to pause, rewind and then fast forward live broadcasts, and offers a catch up service, “no visto”, for programmes broadcast over the previous week. A video-on-demand service with a catalog of 600 titles is also available, and there are 15 channels in high definition.

Tedi includes a personal video recorder with a 500GB hard disk, allowing up to 250 hours of recordings to be saved.

In the near future, Telecable will add the capability to receive the Tedi service on PCs, tablets and smartphones.
