400,000 customers for Telenet Digital TV
Friday, January 18th, 2008Mechelen — Today, Telenet announces it has passed the milestone of 400,000 digital television customers. This success is partially boosted by a strong year-end campaign. Excluding the former UPC Belgium area, where Telenet only introduced iDTV as of mid last year, Telenet has now nearly one out of four analog television customers enjoying the quality and features of the digital platform.
“This is a very good result, especially when you put these numbers into perspective of us only serving iDTV services in 40% of Belgium” says Jo Van Gorp, Telenet’s Executive Vice President Residential Marketing. “In addition, we are pleased about the introduction of our High Definition service last month which unveiled a digital television product that brings superior image and sound quality to our customers’ home”.
Telenet remains committed to innovate its content offering. As of today, the Flemish movie “Vermist” will be made available in our Video-on-Demand library while it is still running in movie theatres. This is again a narrowing of the usual broadcast window and even improves last year’s record of the movie “300” that was released in Video-on-Demand and for sale on the same day.
