Ooredoo introduces Live TV service in partnership with Play Cast Maldives
Ooredoo Maldives has today launched Live TV for the first time in the Maldives in partnership with Play Cast Maldives.
Play Cast Maldives which obtained license to provide cable TV service in December 2014 is providing the service for the first time via Ooredoo 3G+ and 4G LTE network, exclusively to Ooredoo customers. This mobile service will enable customers to watch local TV channels on their smart devices without any additional charge.
Ooredoo customers will be able to enjoy this service from anywhere in the Maldives, without any subscription fee, on mobile devices such as smartphones, smart tablets and smart TVs with Ooredoo connections.
Ooredoo Commercial Director, Mr SP Sarathy, said: “For the first time in Maldives, next-generation entertainment is here on customer’s mobile devices. Ooredoo customers can now enjoy their favourite TV shows and catch up with news on the go. Whether you’re on the ferry, having coffee at your favourite Café or even spending weekend on a picnic island with friends, now you can enjoy the best of football matches, TV news or entertainment programs on Live TV, directly on your smartphone.

Ooredoo customers can instantly register to the Live TV service by sending ‘GO’ to 5577. All Ooredoo customers will be able to enjoy Live TV, and prepaid customers must have an active Data package to be able to subscribe to this service.
Subscribers of the service will initially be able to live stream local channels including TVM, DhiTV, Raajje TV, VTV, Channel M, MVTV, Channel One and Atoll TV via Ooredoo 3G+ and superfast 4G network. Ooredoo Live TV service will be available to all Ooredoo customers without any additional subscription fee till 28 February 2015.
