Telstra unveils new Telstra TV streaming device

Telstra today unveiled the new Telstra TV streaming device and announced it will be available for purchase by Telstra customers from Tuesday, 27 October.

Telstra TV is an easy to use streaming player that allows Telstra home broadband customers to watch the most popular streaming services, rent the latest blockbuster films from BigPond Movies and catch up on their favourite TV shows on their compatible TV. Telstra TV provides access to15 services including apps for Presto and Netflix, as well as a number of television catch up services including SBS on Demand, PLUS7 and 9JumpIn. In addition, Australian streaming service Stan will be available on Telstra TV in November.

Joe Pollard, Telstra Chief Marketing Officer and Group Executive Media said Telstra TV responds to the growing demand for simple and flexible home entertainment that allows consumers to access their favourite TV series, movies and content directly to their television.

Telstra has partnered with Roku Inc., which is renowned for its streaming platform and producing world-class streaming devices, with an exciting variety of entertainment choices.

With Telstra TV, consumers have more choice and control over what they watch and when they watch it.”

Telstra TV adds to Telstra’s existing entertainment services, including Foxtel from Telstra products. It will be available for purchase in Telstra stores nationally and online from 27 October 2015. Telstra TV will be priced at $109 per streaming player or included as part of selected L and XL broadband bundles. BigPond Movies and Presto will be unmetered on Telstra Home Broadband at home. Data usage applies for other use.

Telstra customers who take up a Telstra TV before 25 December will receive a $15 BigPond Movie voucher, a bonus three months subscription to Presto and a bonus three months subscription to Stan, when Stan becomes available in November.
