ADB Leads the tru2way™ in Enabling Content Convergence on the TV
Tuesday, October 27th, 2009ADB highlights Whole Home DVR and Smooth- View™ at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo. Booth 1089
GENEVA — At SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2009, Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) will demonstrate how it enables operators deliver the promises of tru2way™ together with an enhanced consumer TV experience for linear and on-demand entertainment services. ADB will display how it is making television, Internet and personal content converge and be accessible where consumers enjoy it most: on their flat screen TV.
“The Consumer Experience is what matters. It promises to be a major theme at the show, particularly addressing how network operators handle the inevitable content convergence that will force TV, other CE devices and the Internet to interact together. In the coming years, most of the IP-traffic will be video, and we believe the majority will be viewed on a television,” says ADB. “We will show how we can support this and deliver on the promise of tru2way at the same time.”
Content convergence with Whole Home DVR and IP Clients
ADB has a well-earned reputation for pioneering innovation to enhance set-top box performance and features, and it will demonstrate its latest generation devices, including Whole Home DVR which gives users the ability to access content in any room within the home utilizing DLNA- (Digital Living Network Alliance), UPnP™- (Universal Plug and Play) and MOCA1.1. Both Cable and IPTV clients will be shown interacting with the Whole home DVR at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo.
Enhanced navigation and user interface
The user interface is central to the consumer TV experience and ADB’s enhanced graphics engine enables network operators to deliver easy to navigate content libraries and EPGs. ADB supports interactive TV graphics and fluid motion.
Smooth-View™
The Smooth-View™ technology revolutionizes the DVR experience by giving users the ability to linearly accelerate or slow-down high-definition videos without any frame drop, and with perfect audio. The user finally has full control of the time.
ADB will also be showing a hospitality solution and the CableLabs Network Verification tool along with the ADB-4820C award winning Set-back box.
