On December 10, 2009, Panama’s state television operator, SERTV (Sistema Estatal de Radio y Televisión de Panamá), began digital terrestrial television (DTT) broadcasting. The DVB-T service is on Channel 41 as defined by the Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Públicos (ASEP).

In the coming months Panama’s other channels will start digital broadcasting, with complete switchover from analogue to digital expected to take 10 years.
