In 2009, Russia’s Tricolor TV DTH satellite service added 1.650 million subscribers across Russia, exceeding the 6 million user mark, or 13% of the population of Russia. Despite a slight slowdown compared with last year’s performance, Tricolor TV is still gaining subscribers faster than any satellite DTH operator in the world.
The 6 millionth connection to the network was recorded during the New Year holidays. At the time of registration the number of subscribers to Tricolor’s “Optimum” pay package was 4,261,350, representing approximately 71% of the total.
