Amino wins contract to provide HD STBs to Mahaska Communication Group
Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010Amino Communications (AIM: AMO.L), the world leading independent IPTV specialist, has secured a contract to deliver high definition (HD) set-top boxes to US triple play provider Mahaska Communication Group (MCG).
The Iowa-based company, which serves the city of Oskaloosa, has ordered A130, A130M and A530 STBs to deliver a range of entertainment services across their state of the art fibre-to-the-home network.
Amino partnered with middleware provider Minerva Networks to secure the deal, which will see the replacement of existing standard definition set-top boxes with new HD models.
Amino Chief Executive Officer Andrew Burke said: “MCG is a very forward thinking operator deploying an advanced fibre network capable of supporting the best in home entertainment. Our HD boxes are an ideal complement to the service and we look forward to working with MCG on the service rollout.”
Mahaska Communication Group General Manager Frank Hansen said: “We seek partners that not only provide solid solutions, but also support their product well into the future. Amino has been that type of partner for MCG. We are excited about our continued relationship with Amino Communications.”
MCG was originally formed by Musco Sports Lighting, a global company also based in Oskaloosa, to provide reliable, high quality communication services for the company. To foster economic development in the city, MCG extended the reach of its network to provide reliable high quality communication services to local businesses and the wider community.
The company now offers a range of triple-play packages – including phone, broadband and television services – across its fibre network.
