Chunghwa Telecom Multimedia-on-Demand subscribers stable in 4Q09

TAIPEI, Taiwan, R.O.C. — Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. (TAIEX: 2412, NYSE: CHT) (“Chunghwa” or “the Company”), today reported its operating results for the year ending December 31, 2009.

Dr. Shyue-Ching Lu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chunghwa Telecom said, “We swiftly implemented cost controlling initiatives to address the weakened economic conditions, while also improving our value-added services, MOD/IPTV offering and key Enterprise solutions.
