GENEVA, Switzerland — Advanced Digital Broadcast (SIX:ADBN), a leading supplier of technology to the global digital television industry, announced today that it will be showcasing at The Cable Show its latest innovations that will accelerate the deployments of advanced services.

ADB recognizes that operators are under competitive pressure to introduce new services and deliver a TV entertainment experience that will attract and retain their subscribers.

At booth #339 in Los Angeles this week, ADB will show how its engineering and design leadership can provide answers to the challenges facing operators today:

Advanced Home Networking with tuner-less clients

ADB’s Home-Networking solution features a tuner-less set-top client, that works off the living-room DVR. The ADB solution enables viewers to tune to TV channels, to play recorded content with Carbo™, ADB’s full High Definition user interface, and to use ADB’s advanced Smooth-View™ video capabilities. This inexpensive set-up significantly lowers the cost of deploying multi-room services, while providing a great consumer experience.

ADB will show how its solution provides consumers the ability to enjoy TV, music and videos from wherever they are in the home: they can use their gaming consoles to tune to a channel or watch recorded programs, or they can access music tracks and videos stored on their DVR and play them on their smart phones.

“Our new Home Networking solution with our Carbo full-HD interface is a perfect example of how to provide consumers with fantastic TV experiences and operators with virtually no-hassle deployment and integration,” said Francois Pogodalla, CEO of Advanced Digital Broadcast. “Carbo easily integrates with any open-standard based set-top solution, and its wide range of interactive services enriches the home networking value proposition with photo albums and Internet radio”.

Full immersion 3D experience

By invitation only, ADB will showcase its full 3D TV experience, including both video and a compelling graphical user interface. ADB has developed unique ways to overcome many of the video and graphics challenges brought by 3D

TV, increasing accessibility and ease of deployment for operators. ADB’s 3D demonstration is running on a sub-$200 platform that already has an installed base of thousands in subscribers’ homes.

Because the ADB solution is compatible with existing services, it simplifies the ability to introduce 3D. Operators can rapidly test new 3D services, legacy 2D applications can coexist with 3D, and users can switch seamlessly between 2D and 3D modes via the remote.

tru2way® set-back solutions for hospitality markets

ADB, who pioneered the innovative set-back concept, will demonstrate its turn-key interactive TV solution for hotels. ADB’s hospitality solution offers hotel guests a premium television entertainment experience with video-on-demand, games and more. It has been designed for an easy and cost-effective deployment, working in legacy environments, integrating seamlessly with billing systems.

A range of other innovations will be on display at ADB’s booth, such as Internet widgets which will enhance the user experience by providing access to vast quantities of information; and a tru2way® analyzer for network verification.
