World leader in IPTV technology to highlight strategies and solutions for deploying revenue-generating HD services

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. and ATLANTA — Amino, the world leading IPTV platform supplier, today announced its participation at the TelcoTV 2007 Conference & Expo in Atlanta, GA. At booth # 437, Amino will demonstrate its next-generation award-winning AmiNET series of IP Set-Top Boxes (STBs) including the AmiNET125, which enables service operators to offer advanced Internet TV services, and the HD capable AmiNET130 and AmiNET530.

In addition to a prominent presence on the exhibition floor, Amino is also participating in an educational session geared towards telcos seeking more information about delivery methods for HD services. Dominique Le Foll, Vice President of Engineering for Amino, will speak about the feasibility of HD over DSL, exploring various options and strategies to deploy HD services in this technology landscape. The session will be held at the main TelcoTV conference – Technology Track on Wednesday, October 24th at 2pm.

Attendees can stop by the Amino booth # 437 to learn more about the company’s offerings and see first hand on display the AmiNET125, winner of the prestigious CSI Product of the Year 2007 Award for “Best IPTV Technology” at the IBC event last month.

The AmiNET125 is a second generation multi-codec STB for IPTV, Video on Demand and Internet TV applications enabling two different TV delivery methods:

Telco TV – IPTV and Video on Demand applications are hosted on a flexible, reliable platform, allowing for the development of new services with the potential to increase subscriber revenue. The AmiNET125 enables additional services such as video conferencing, gaming and VoIP, and its adaptive DSP-based codec allows for the addition of future streaming formats. The AmiNET125 was the first STB to integrate the AVS codec for the Chinese IPTV market.

Internet TV – The AmiNET125 brings Internet TV from the PC to TV using Windows Media 9 and the Opera Internet browser. This opens up a world of niche or ‘long tail’ content. The STB plays streams directly from standard Window Media servers and supports an expanding range of features including WMDRM 10 and Orb Networks’ MyCast software (the world’s first integration of the Orb technology in an IP STB).

In addition to the AmiNET125, Amino will be demonstrating its HD and HD PVR products:

High-Definition IPTV – This demonstration will show the quality and professionalism of HD graphics and gaming, using the MPEG-2/4 AmiNET130 STB. Operators can increase revenue by offering this enhanced viewing experience, which features a greater number of interactive and multicast channels and offers more opportunities for advertising and more Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data. The AmiNET130 is the world’s first IP STB capable of displaying HD graphics for HD gaming, following an integration with interactive games developer Accedo Broadband.

HD Personal Video Recorder (PVR) IPTV – The PVR capability along with other advanced IPTV functionalities, such as pause-live-TV and pushed content models, will allow operators to increase their customer base whilst reducing churn. This will be displayed using the new MPEG-2/4 AmiNET530 STB. The AmiNET530 can also offer HD graphics and gaming applications.

“We are very pleased to not only be demonstrating our IPTV and Internet TV STBs at this event, but to also have the opportunity to educate attendees about the advanced services that can be deployed in limited bandwidth infrastructures,” said Rick Sailor, Vice President Sales – Americas for Amino. “We understand that telecommunication providers are challenged to stay ahead of the ever expanding market for IP-based services and devices while also increasing average revenue per user. With Amino’s industry leading STBs, telcos can benefit from working with one of the most experienced companies in the market providing innovative, future-proof solutions.”
