LAS VEGAS — 2011 International CES — Digital Keystone announced an increased level of integration between the Digital Keystone Maelstrom distributed gateway software and the Intel® Atom™ processor CE4200, demonstrating the ability to distribute content in the native video and security format of an ever-increasing range of connected devices. The demonstration includes the first showing of live simultaneous Pay TV services streaming to the Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy TAB.

Paolo Siccardo, President and CEO of Digital Keystone, said, “With the powerful transcoding capabilities of the Intel CE4200 silicon coupled with the security and navigation features of Maelstrom, we are able to reach all the popular client devices in the market today – Android (Galaxy, GoogleTV), iOS (iPad, iPhone) and PC/Mac are just a few. The inherent scalability of the Maelstrom architecture allows us to transparently reach new devices as they are released. The Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) CE4200 is the leading media processor, and is the perfect platform for home gateways. We are happy that Intel is working with us to provide a world’s-first gateway solution.”

Bob Ferreira, General Manager, Cable Segment, Intel Digital Home Group, said, “Digital Keystone’s Maelstrom takes the best capabilities of broadcast and broadband and combines them into an architecture that is ideally suited to today’s digital home. We believe distributed gateway is the next-generation STB, and we’re pleased that Digital Keystone is working with Intel to demonstrate the Maelstrom system to the cable and satellite Pay TV industry.”
