According to Le Figaro, Technicolor (Paris: TCH; NYSE: TCH) has won the tender launched by France Telecom (Paris: FTE; NYSE: FTE) for its next generation of multimedia set-top boxes for France.
Technicolor lost its traditional customer in around 2007. France Telecom’s Orange Livebox 2, launched in 2009, is manufactured by Sagem Communications, and for Orange satellite services outside France, France Telecom also uses Samsung.
The hybrid box will be deployed in 2012 and will be produced in Angers.
