MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) is targeting 2012 for the introduction of digital television, with the transition being implemented in phases, city by city. Complete switch over is not now likely to occur by 2015 as previously proposed.
The Philippines has adopted Japan’s Integrated Services Digital Broadcast (ISDB) technology as its standard for digital terrestrial TV.
