COMTREND integrates Vianeos IPTV middleware
Thursday, February 3rd, 2011PARIS — Comtrend, key supplier of advanced network solutions, announced today the integration of Vianeos Octopus Middleware in the Comtrend STB-7007 Set Top Box. This improvement enables operators to provide their customers with the most advanced features on a Set-Top-Box. Octopus Middleware combines simple, scalable, open, modular, evolutive and completely customizable software. Operators recognize this service as a major asset in their heating battle to provide their customers simple access to IPTV.

The COMTREND STB-7007 is a next generation IP-based set-top-box which can support IPTV, video-on-demand (VoD), near VoD, Internet, and over-the-top (OTT) video applications in both HD (high-definition) and SD (standard-definition) formats. It supports most popular HD/SD decoding schemes, including simultaneous HD/SD decoding with PIP (picture-in-picture) function. With advanced and legacy interfaces supported, it can be used as a multimedia hub for a modern digital home networking environment.
Vianeos delivers the Octopus solution to manage and control all multimedia content broadcast on an IPTV network such as TV, VOD, EPG. Thanks to its large customization flexibility, each element is modular on TV screen.
