Entone and Anevia Enable Hybrid TV and OTT Services
Thursday, September 1st, 2011
Entone, Inc., a leading provider of Hybrid TV and Connected Home solutions, and Anevia, a leader in video streaming solutions and service infrastructure for live TV and video on demand (VoD), announced today the integration of Anevia’s ViaMotion OTT (over the top) solutions with Entone’s Hybrid TV devices and media hubs.
Anevia offers a range of IP video streaming solutions for live and VoD content over managed IP networks as well as the Internet. Entone’s Hybrid TV devices and media hubs enable operators to deliver a TV service that blends the best of traditional linear TV programming with innovative cloud-based media and applications – all from a single device, a consistent user interface and a unified service offering. The integrated Anevia-Entone solution enables service operators to accelerate their time to market, while also offering subscribers more compelling next-gen TV services.
“OTT technology is a major breakthrough in video. It allows early adopters from telco and payTV operators not only to reduce churn, but also to monetize content in new ways. The integration with Entone enables operators to immediately deploy multi-screen solutions for further lucrative business opportunities using Anevia’s ViaMotion OTT solutions,” said Morsy Cheikhrouhou, VP of Global Sales at Anevia.
As the latest addition to Entone’s family of Hybrid TV devices, Kamai makes installation and setup hassle-free. It easily integrates with existing home networks and broadband services via its integrated Ethernet or (optional) Wi-Fi connection. Kamai’s USB port offers service providers the flexibility to deploy digital video recorder (DVR) services while providing subscribers convenient storage options without additional truck rolls.
“This collaborative effort enables service operators a more efficient and cost-effective hybrid TV solution that can be quickly deployed,” said Bart Vanderostyne, Director of EMEA Sales and Operations at Entone. “By integrating our field-proven hybrid TV and media hubs with Anevia’s IP video streaming solutions, operators can easily deliver advanced IP and OTT services throughout a subscriber’s home without requiring new wiring or a set-top box at each TV set, resulting in a dramatic cost savings in both capital and operating costs for the operator.”
Product demonstrations can be seen at IBC2011 in Amsterdam at the Entone stand (Connected World, Hall 13, stand 266) and at the Anevia stand (Hall 4, stand B66).
