PARIS, France & HOLLYWOOD, CA — Technicolor (Euronext Paris: TCH) is pleased to announce it has reached a milestone by selling 10 million Digital Transport Adapters (DTAs) to North American cable operators..

Tier 1 and Tier 2 cable operators relied on Technicolor’s DTA solutions to leverage the analog-to-digital switch opportunity, and Technicolor’s ability to bring products to market on time in large volumes to sustain mass deployment across the cable operators subscriber base.

Technicolor’s DTA is a one-way cable set-top-box that enables cable operators to move to an all-digital infrastructure quickly and cost-efficiently by delivering digital-quality video and audio service to existing analog cable customers. The product was designed in a compact form with a wireless remote allowing it to be conveniently placed behind the TV set. An standard definition version of these DTAs was launched in early 2009 in the U.S. and followed by an high definition version shortly afterwards.

The overall product quality, superior software robustness, technical support and renowned company expertise were the definitive factors that convinced North American cable operators to trust Technicolor as their leading technology partner to enter new opportunities within the digital market.
