TelkomVision Achieves 800% Growth in Sales, Reaches One Million Subscribers Using Irdeto; Diverse pay TV services offering accelerates subscription in the last six months

INDONESIA — Irdeto (JSE: NPN), a global software security and media technology company, congratulates customer TelkomVision, Indonesia’s leading Direct-to-Home (DTH) broadcast operator, for recently reaching one million subscribers. TelkomVision has achieved double its original target of 500,000 subscribers by end 2011 by relying on Irdeto’s Conditional Access System (CAS). The Irdeto solution allowed the pay TV operator to offer Indonesian subscribers a choice of attractive pay TV service packages at affordable prices.

Irdeto has deepened its relationship with TelkomVision in recent years, thus helping the pay TV operator succeed by ensuring just-in-time product availability and support. Part of one of the largest Indonesian corporate groups, Telkom Indonesia, TelkomVision has great potential to further expand its subscriber base.

TelkomVision’s subscribers currently represent half of Indonesia’s pay TV market which surpassed two million in 2011 and is anticipated to reach 2.5 million subscribers in 2012, according to CASBAA. Indonesia is the world’s fourth most populous nation with 248 million people (CIA World Factbook). The country has 50 million TV households and a pay TV penetration of four percent. Pyramid Research forecasts Indonesia’s pay TV penetration will grow up to seven percent by 2015.
