NTT Electronics Announces SARADEC2, single chip Decoder LSI supports H.264/MPEG-2 8/10bit 422/420 1080/60i and 1080/60p

NTT Electronics Corporation announced the release of its new professional video decoder “SARADEC2”. SARADEC2 is single chip LSI 10bit H.264/AVC solution decoding MPEG-2 TS stream for 422/420, MPEG-2 and H.264/AVC, 1080/60i and 1080/60p(H.264/AVC) with 8bit/10bit(H.264/AVC) formats. By optimizing memory bandwidth, SARADEC2 achieved 3w typical operation with 4x800MHz DDR for H.264/AVC-422/10bit operation.

SARADEC2 is designed to address the demands from the professional broadcasting industry. SARADEC2 functions include the ability to cover universal formats, receiving and decoding any variation of the stream, at any place and at any given time regardless of the situation.

SARADEC2 is the second generation LSI succeeding the SARADEC which was released in 2007 supporting MPEG-2 and H.264/AVC, 1080/60i, and 8bit format. SARADEC2 utilized its predecessors wide range interoperability, error concealment, and stable operation and has increased its functions with 1080/60p(H.264/AVC) and 10bit(H.264/AVC) while lessening its power consumption.

This new device will be demonstrated at NAB2012 NTT Electronics booth (SU4612) from 16th to 19th in April. The demonstration will include the updated ARQENC single chip encoder operation newly covering 1080/60p(H.264/AVC) feature by connecting it to SARADEC2.

SARADEC2 samples will be available from the end of April. Production release is scheduled for June. Evaluations and on-site demonstration will be available upon requests.
