Anevia and Elemental Provide Over-the-Top TV Solution for Can'L

NOUMÉA, NEW CALEDONIA — Anevia, a leading provider of video streaming solutions and service infrastructure for live TV and video on demand (VOD) and Elemental Technologies, a leading supplier of video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, announced today that Can’L has deployed its over-the-top (OTT) TV solution for New Caledonia.

Can’L is New Caledonia’s leading internet service provider and IP telephony operator. To expand and enhance its existing services, Can’L chose to work with Anevia and Elemental to build a new 30 channel French-language OTT TV service for its customers.

The OTT system captures and formats live satellite TV feeds for distribution over the Can’L IP network. Anevia’s ViaLive DVB to IP streamers feed Elemental Live systems used to encode incoming video for adaptive bitrate streaming. Anevia’s ViaMotion origin and edge servers deliver the video as HTTP adaptive bitrate streams to Can’L set-top boxes.

Content security for premium services is implemented through an integration with Verimatrix VCAS™ for Internet TV. Minerva Networks supplied its iTVFusion middleware. Can’L also deployed Anevia’s ViaLive Delay solution for adjusting overseas live content to the local time zone.
