In-vehicle Infotainment middleware from Jungo now supports HD video; Solution to be demonstrated at the Telematics Detroit 2012 conference in Booth #17

DETROIT — Detroit Telematics — Jungo Ltd., a leading supplier of connectivity solutions to the automotive industry, has added playback and distribution of HD video support to its In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) middleware. The company’s automotive connectivity middleware with HD video support will be on display at the Telematics Detroit conference on June 6 and 7.

The complete connectivity middleware from Jungo enables in-car infotainment system manufacturers to integrate end-to-end media access, media control and streaming, and phone and Internet connectivity into their designs. The middleware, which currently ships with dozens of car models around the world, resolves the issues of software connectivity to multiple devices over multiple protocols and for multiple applications.

The addition of support for HD video underlines Jungo’s position as a leading provider of IVI middleware and advances the company’s IVI roadmap, which includes support for video from all popular devices and sources (including Apple, Android and many others) as well as support for all popular codecs and containers. The middleware also supports streaming from local storage, home media and from the cloud.

“The introduction of support for HD video reinforces our commitment to providing cutting-edge video support in our IVI middleware,” said Jungo Connectivity General Manager Ophir Herbst. “Through this development, we are one step closer to realizing our vision of connectivity to any device, over any protocol and for any application.”

At Telematics Detroit, Jungo will demonstrate HD video on an IVI platform running Linux on a Freescale chipset. To arrange a demonstration at the exhibition or to schedule a meeting, please contact Daphna Kushnir .
