VIZIO incorporates Sigma Designs connected TV chipset in Cinemawide® HDTVs

Sigma’s HiDTV Pro Chipset Powers VIZIO Cinemawide RazorLED® Smart TV

MILPITAS, CA — Sigma Designs (NASDAQ: SIGM), a leading provider of System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for home entertainment connectivity and control, announced today that its chipset has been selected by VIZIO, America’s #1 LCD HDTV company,* for its new ultra wide Cinemawide® HDTVs. The VIZIO Cinemawide HDTV brings panoramic 21:9 aspect ratio to the U.S. for the first time, expanding the boundaries of conventional widescreen to deliver a new standard of entertainment in breathtaking 2560 x 1080 resolution.

The ultra wide 21:9 panoramic screen allows viewers to enjoy movies formatted in cinemascope aspect ratio by filling the screen, for a movie-watching experience just like at the theater. Featuring crystal clear, flicker-free Theater 3D™ and built-in Wi-Fi with VIZIO Internet Apps®, the Cinemawide HDTV delivers an immersive, cinema-quality experience.
