SYDNEY, Australia — Accedo, market-leading enabler of Smart TV and IPTV solutions, have helped FOXTEL launch their first connected TV application in Australia, by designing and developing the FOXTEL on Internet TV application for Samsung’s Smart TV platform.

FOXTEL on Internet TV lets you enjoy FOXTEL, without the need for installation, a lock-in contract or a FOXTEL set-top-box. With a compatible Samsung Smart TV and high-speed Internet connection, Australian viewers can now stream FOXTEL content directly to their Samsung Smart TV.

The application offers Australian viewers direct access to a selection of 30 live FOXTEL channels, including FOX8, Discovery Channel, ESPN, UKTV and Showtime, as well as FOXTEL’s 8 live Olympic channels and the latest results from the London 2012 Olympic Games.

“This week’s launch of our FOXTEL on Internet TV application means that Australian viewers can now gain instant access to a new world of live entertainment direct to their Samsung Smart TV”, commented Jim Rudder, FOXTEL Executive Director of Product.

Evan Manolis, Group Manager AV at Samsung Electronics Australia, said “Accedo’s extensive experience in developing applications for our Smart TV and Android powered Galaxy products, make them the natural choice for enabling our media partners”.

“We’re extremely excited to be working with FOXTEL on this and are very proud of the application we’ve helped produce for Samsung’s Smart TV line-up here in Australia” commented Matt Kossatz, VP Australia and New Zealand, Accedo. “We look forward to continuing to work closely with them to roll-out their service across many more platforms in the future.”

FOXTEL on Internet TV is now available on Samsung Smart TVs (2011 – 2012 models), with varying packages available.
