AMSTERDAM — IBC, Stand 14.334 — Inview Technology, the company bringing Smart TV experiences to any TV or Set-Top-Box (STB), has signed an exclusive deal with one of Europe’s largest consumer electronic distributors, Altech SetOne, to deploy its Smart TV platform across the DACH region.
Inview will be supplying Altech SetOne with a complete IP platform that will be sold across its extensive range of DVB-S products, giving German consumers access to a wide range of Smart TV applications on even the most basic set-top boxes.
The Inview platform is unique in that it seamlessly integrates content delivered via the internet with usual broadcast programming. The software sits directly on the silicon chip and has been designed to work on value devices, bringing video on demand (VOD), streamed audio, social networking and much more to a mass market.
Bartolomeo Caputo, CEO of Altech SetOne commented: “We feel there is great potential with the Inview platform. We were impressed with its functionality and ability to draw in content from the internet in one seamless experience. We will be integrating the Inview platform on our extensive range of satellite set-top box products
Keith Wiggins, Commercial Director at Inview Technology added: “The Inview platform gives the end-user access to Smart TV functionality on a basic zapper box, giving them the benefits of a Smart TV platform without the price tag. By operating on zapper boxes we are opening up Smart TV to a mass market audience rather than a niche set of early-adopters.”
