OTTAWA, Ontario — Espial, a leader in on-demand TV software and solutions, today announced the installation of the Espial MediaBase on-demand video platform at KBRO, one of Taiwan’s largest cable television operators. Espial MediaBase will be installed and integrated at KBRO by Taiwan’s leading broadband system integrator Hwacom, providing the cable television operator with a single, unified solution for delivering video-on-demand (VOD) content.

“The Espial MediaBase platform allows KBRO to manage, distribute, and stream high-quality video content to our subscribers across Taiwan,” said C.H. Jih, CTO, KBRO. “By using a high-performance VOD platform, we’re able to deliver video cost-effectively to a virtually unlimited number of subscribers and viewing platforms over our managed network as well as the Internet.”

Espial MediaBase offers best-in-class performance on commercial off-the-shelf servers, allowing KBRO to cost-effectively stream on-demand video to multiple viewing platforms. Utilizing Espial MediaBase’s unified content delivery network, KBRO can now deliver MPEG and HTTP content to a variety of viewing devices more efficiently, reducing its capital and operational expenses dramatically.

“Espial MediaBase is the leading on-demand video platform for VOD services for many reasons,” said Jaison Dolvane, president and CEO, Espial. “It provides a single platform for managing, distributing, and streaming multiscreen content as well as ensuring an excellent user experience with a low cost-of-ownership for KBRO. As the cable television operator’s storage needs increase over time, they can simply upgrade their system via a license key update, providing an unmatched flexibility for future growth.”
