Montenegro ends 2012 with 133,831 pay TV subscribers
Friday, January 18th, 2013PODGORICA — The Agency for Electronic Media (Agencije za elektronske medije) in Montenegro has released subscriber figures for the seven operators (four cable and one each of MMDS, IPTV and DTH) authorised to distribute radio and TV programmes to end users in the country.
As at December 31, 2012, the number of connections for the distribution of radio and TV programmes over the different Cable/MMDS/DTH/IPTV platforms was 133,831, up 11,097 or 9.04% in the year, and representing 68.70% of households, the remainder being covered by terrestrial TV.

IPTV has the leading position in radio and TV distribution with 42.04% of the market (up from 40.91% at the end of 2011). It is followed by DTH distribution at 28.75% percent (30.03% at end 2011) and MMDS and Cable with 16.71% (16.25%) and 12.51% (12.81%) respectively.
