70% of households in Montenegro have Pay TV
Wednesday, April 10th, 2013PODGORICA — The Agency for Electronic Media (Agencije za elektronske medije) in Montenegro has released subscriber figures for the seven operators (four cable and one each of MMDS, IPTV and DTH) authorised to distribute radio and TV programmes to end users in the country.
As at March 31, 2013, the number of connections for the distribution of radio and TV programmes over the different Cable/MMDS/DTH/IPTV platforms was 138,420, up 4,589 or 3.43% since December 2012, and representing 71.06% (up from 68.70% at end-2012) of households, the remainder being covered by terrestrial TV.

IPTV has the leading position in radio and TV distribution with 41.72% of the market (down from 42.04% at the end of 2012). It is followed by DTH distribution at 29.62% percent (28.75% at end 2012) and MMDS and Cable with 16.57% (16.71%) and 12.09% (12.51%) respectively.
