Chunghwa Telecom MOD/IPTV subscribers stable at 1.2 million in 1Q 2013

TAIPEI, Taiwan, R.O.C. — Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. (TAIEX: 2412, NYSE: CHT) (“Chunghwa” or “the Company”) today reported its unaudited operating results for the first quarter of 2013.

Multimedia on Demand Services

Using video streaming technology through a set top box that connects to its FTTx and ADSL data connections, Chunghwa customers can access TV programs, video-on-demand and other services. Chunghwa served approximately 1.2 million customers as of March 31, 2013. In addition, the Company’s video-on-demand service provides movies, dramas, animations, documentaries, e-learning and music programs for home entertainment.
