NOW TV arrives on PlayStation®3 offering instant access to Sky Movies and Sky Sports

NOW TV, the internet TV service powered by BSkyB (LSE:BSY), is now available on PlayStation®3.

NOW TV offers instant access to Sky Movies and all six Sky Sports channels with no contract, set-up costs or installation. From today users will be able to connect their PlayStation (PS3™) to their TV and home WiFi network, to watch NOW TV on their main TV, as well as continue to watch them out and about through their smartphone, tablet or laptop.

NOW TV recently introduced a £9.99 Sky Sports Day pass which lets NOW TV customers enjoy the biggest ever year of Sport in 2013 on a pay-as-you-go basis. In addition to back-to-back Ashes, the unrivalled breadth of sport available this year includes the British & Irish Lions Tour, every race from the Formula One season, grand slam tennis, golf majors, the Heineken Cup and our biggest ever season of football. Starting in August, Sky Sports will offer more live Premier League matches than ever, with 116 live games across the season. On top of this Sky remains the home of the UEFA Champions League, npower Football league and La Liga.

This is in addition to the hundreds of movies that can be instantly accessed from Sky Movies – the UK’s most popular subscription service, including blockbuster releases around six months after they have ended their run in cinemas. Each month, customers can enjoy access to up to 20 new premieres -at least 12 months before they become available on Netflix or LOVEFiLM Instant. Customers can sign up on a monthly basis and new customers can take advantage of a free 30 day trial of the service, plus also benefit from a three-month introductory offer of £8.99 a month.

More great Sky content will also be added to NOW TV, with must-see shows from Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Arts and Sky Living, including home-grown drama, original comedy and US shows, due to be added this year.

Gidon Katz, Director of NOW TV, comments: “More and more consumers are demanding easy access to a greater choice of high-quality entertainment over internet-connected devices – and NOW TV is here to meet that demand. Following the addition of PlayStation 3, our customers now have another way of streaming to their main TV screen, while continuing to enjoy access out and about via iPad and smartphones. At the same time as we’re rolling NOW TV out to new platforms and devices, we’re also preparing to increase the range and choice of great Sky content that our customers can access.”

Fergal Gara, Vice President and Managing Director for Sony Computer Entertainment UK said: “Adding Sky’s amazing content via NOW TV to the PlayStation 3’s services is a real boon for our millions of UK customers. Streaming great and exclusive sports and movie content to the family TV is a huge enhancement to the PlayStation entertainment portfolio”.

NOW TV is already available across a broad range of internet-connected devices, including laptops, YouView, Roku, selected smartphones and mobile devices. Customers are able to register a total of four internet-connected devices, giving them flexibility over when and where they enjoy the service.
