TORONTO — ViXS Systems Inc. (TSX: VXS) today announced that the ViXS XCode 4210, a powerful System-on-Chip (SoC) for consumer media devices, has been selected by Sony Corporation for its newly launched Personal Content Station LLS-201 (PCS) product. The XCode 4210 provides superlative media processing in a low power and cost effective package, allowing the PCS to deliver unique applications to consumers in an easy-to-use manner. By developing their product around the XCode 4210, Sony was able to build a consumer product with features and functions beyond what is currently available on the market today.
The Sony PCS LLS-201 is a centralized media hub for the home, with a massive 1 Terabyte of storage to hold all of the content that matters for a household. By taking advantage of the high-performance processing engine of the XCode 4210, the LLS-201 creates a unique One-Touch feature that allows consumers to quickly and easily store and retrieve content from their personal entertainment devices such as cameras, camcorders, smart phones and tablets by simply placing the device on top of the LLS-201. In addition, ViXS’ transcoding technology in the XCode 4210 converts media in real-time to a format that the LLS-201 can stream to multiple remote devices such as smart phones and tablets.
“ViXS is proud to have partnered with Sony to create the highly innovative Personal Content Station,” said Perry Chappell, Vice President Worldwide Sales, ViXS Systems Inc. “Taking full advantage of the flexibility and power of the XCode product line, the PCS provides consumers with a personal media solution that spans the diverse range of devices and locations that today’s digital household requires.”
