Montenegro Cable/MMDS/DTH/IPTV subscribers up 4.72% in 2Q 2013

PODGORICA — The Agency for Electronic Media (Agencije za elektronske medije) in Montenegro has released subscriber figures for the seven operators (four cable and one each of MMDS, IPTV and DTH) authorised to distribute radio and TV programmes to end users in the country.
As at June 30, 2013, the number of connections for the distribution of radio and TV programmes over the different Cable/MMDS/DTH/IPTV platforms was 144,950, up 6,530 or 4.72% since March 2013, and representing 74.41% (up from 71.06% at end-March 2013) of households, the remainder being covered by terrestrial TV.

IPTV retained the leading position in radio and TV distribution with 40.89% of the market (down from 41.72% at the end of Q1 2013). It is followed by DTH distribution at 29.27% percent (29.62% at end March) and MMDS and Cable with 15.89% (16.57%) and 13.95% (12.09%) respectively.
