TiVo and Entone team up on IPTV solution

Partnership Brings TiVo® Cloud Services to IPTV Operators

CUPERTINO, CA and SAN JOSE, CA — Entone, a leading provider of Hybrid TV and Connected Home solutions, and TiVo Inc. (NASDAQ: TIVO), a leader in advanced television services and the creator of digital video recorders (DVRs), announced today an integrated solution for IPTV operators that combines Entone’s market-leading hybrid IPTV devices with the TiVo user experience. This partnership gives service providers greater deployment flexibility and improved economics and provides for integration with TiVo’s cloud services, including universal search and recommendations, networked DVR service, as well as key elements of the TiVo user experience on Entone IPTV platforms.

The partnership with Entone represents a continuation of TiVo’s efforts to provide hardware flexibility by working with leading hardware providers in the Pay TV industry. For Entone, the partnership represents an opportunity to bring the world’s most advanced television services to its expanding base of customers among global IPTV operators.

The combined solution is initially targeted for IPTV operators who want to offer the TiVo user experience to their subscribers with maximum deployment flexibility. The TiVo service provides the most advanced television and rich media services, including universal search, personalized recommendation engine, and a rich assembly of web media applications, such as online music and cloud-based video on demand. The underlying Entone hardware provides a powerful platform for supporting the TiVo experience while also providing numerous tuner configurations for hybrid TV and a wide variety of in-home video distribution technologies and options.
