The company will premiere a worldwide streaming UHD service next week
SAN FRANCISCO — Vonetize, a leader in the Smart TV application market, announced today the first ever global 4K streaming service, to be released as a dedicated Smart TV app. The service will be launched commercially next week with Samsung on a worldwide basis, and will be available on the new breed of 4K UHD Smart TV devices.
In addition to the dedicated 4K application, Vonetize will be integrating 4K quality content into its existing content services such as Total Music, Planet Knowledge, Baby Channel, Bollywood Channel and its Premium VOD service – SmartVOD.
Vonetize licenses content from top Hollywood Major Studios such as Disney, Warner Bros, Miramax and others, and plans to further integrate 4K across its global content offering. Vonetize develops and manages content services for all major Smart TV brands such as Samsung, LG, Toshiba and others.
Noam Josephides, Vonetize’s CEO, commented: “As 4K TVs are clearly the next big step-up in home-entertainment quality, solving the high demands of delivering 4K video over internet was a great challenge. Vonetize is now in a position to offer content from the world’s top producers, in the highest visual experience available in the market today”.
4K UHD is a new video standard of Ultra High Definition resolution of 3840 × 2160, or 4 times higher than full HD. To support 4K, Vonetize uses HEVC (H.265) streaming. A fast internet connection of minimum 16Mbps is required to support this streaming quality.
Vonetize is a dominant provider of Smart TV and Connected Devices applications, developing premium content VOD services and technology platforms. Vonetize’s Smart TV apps are ranked on the top-downloaded lists and reach millions of viewers in the global market – The Baby Channel, The Bollywood Channel, Total Music, Mentors Channel and more.
