ADB targets OTT service providers with launch of Graphyne OTT software

  • OTT-only version of Graphyne multi-screen user experience software supports multiple monetisation models across connected devices
  • First OTT user experience to offer an upgrade path to live, linear broadcast TV
  • First OTT multi-screen user experience to treat all media types identically

GENEVA, Switzerland — Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) today announced Graphyne OTT, a new flavour of its pioneering user experience framework developed specifically for OTT service providers. Graphyne OTT offers content owners and other emerging OTT players the only OTT multi-screen user experience to treat all media types identically, and on any device. Graphyne OTT is also the first multi-DRM supporting user experience that allows OTT service providers to upgrade to a live, linear broadcast service.

ADB’s expansion into this fast-growing market segment complements the company’s strong heritage delivering OTT solutions to pay-TV operators. ADB has been deploying OTT services with pay-TV operators since 2009.

Graphyne OTT software features a striking, minimalist design and delivers a consistent experience across a range of connected devices, including HDMI sticks, tablets and phones running Android, iOS devices and PCs. The software supports various monetisation models, including personalised advertising, to help service providers maximise revenue opportunities across all screens.

It enables OTT service providers to launch an on-demand multi-screen service quickly and cost-effectively using a framework that provides a pre-tested way of adding new services without requiring further rounds of multi-device user testing. Customers can also develop HTML5 applications using a standard set of APIs.

With Graphyne’s elegant interface, users can easily navigate all their digital content and services – including social media applications, music, personal photographs and even smart home apps – at home and on the move, using multiple devices. ADB’s Follow Me function lets users switch content seamlessly between devices and continue the same experience.

The software features a global search function and subscriber-level personalisation with the integration of user lists, micro banners, and parental locking synchronised across multiple screens. The user interface can be customised with an OTT service provider’s branding and colours and the deployment can be modified to match the available network services.

“From talking to content owners and other pure-play OTT service providers, it is clear that there is a demand for a high impact, multi-screen user experience framework that can be deployed quickly to help them to stand out from the crowd. Graphyne OTT is our response. It provides OTT service providers with a sophisticated multi-screen environment built on our strong digital TV heritage and is the first pure-play OTT offering to offer an upgrade path to live, linear broadcast TV if or when the OTT operator chooses,” said Peter Balchin, CEO at ADB.
