Mongolia begins transition to digital TV
Sunday, August 3rd, 2014ULAANBAATAR — According to the UB Post, Mongolia began the transition to digital TV broadcasting on July 31st. In the first phase, ten DVB-T2 transmitters are being installed in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, and 244 transmitters in municipal districts. Full coverage of the country will be completed in 2016.
Mongolia’s Information Technology, Post and Telecommunication Authority (ITPTA), has said that the analogue service will be switched off on January 1st, 2016.
