Smart offers easy access to Hollywood blockbusters, TV shows with ‘Blink’ exclusive tie-up

Subscribers of Smart and Sun Cellular in the Philippines now have access to hundreds of Hollywood blockbusters and episodes of their favorite TV series using their cellphone load through Blink, the country’s largest video-on-demand streaming service.

Through a recently announced exclusive partnership by Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and OMNI Digital Media Ventures, an affiliate of Solar Entertainment Corporation, users of the BLINK app can now pay for movies and access to TV shows using their Smart or Sun prepaid or postpaid accounts.

BLINK, accessible through the Web and through iOS and Android apps, brings the movies and TV shows you want to see right into the screen of your smartphone, tablet, or laptop whenever and wherever you are.

“This partnership with Blink gives Smart and Sun subscribers an ‘ultrapersonal’, highly customized entertainment experience right on their mobile phones,” said Mellissa Limcaoco, Innovation and Product Development Group Head at Smart. “It doesn’t get more personal than this—fans can now enjoy movies and TV shows wherever and whenever they want, even without a credit card.”

Unhampered access

Through BLINK, avid film aficionados can stream movies to their mobile devices for as low as P60 for catalog titles and P99 for newer film releases. Those who want to catch up or stay on top of their favorite TV series can also enjoy unhampered access to the most recently available episodes of their favorite shows for only P250 a month, or less than P9 per day.

To instantly gain access to blockbuster hits and award-winning TV shows, Smart and Sun users simply need to purchase electronic pin codes on epins.gamex.ph/BLINKNow, and enter them into the “Promo Code” box after clicking “Buy” on their desired video content.

Users will be able to keep their purchased movies for 7 days in their library, which will then expire after 48 hours once they have started watching the movie. Episodes of TV shows, meanwhile, can be viewed for an unlimited number of times for the duration of 30 days.

Smart is leading the charge in making content available to more Filipinos especially those who have no credit card. Now everyone can lead the fully connected life with access to content such as music (SPINNR), Videos (ViewStream), books and magazines (Buqo), and games (GameX). With this groundbreaking innovation, Smart gives its subscribers yet another way to “Live More.”
