Huawei increase Megacable customer offering with Hybrid Video Solution
SHENZHEN, China — Huawei today announced they have provided Megacable, with a Hybrid Video Solution. Megacable, the biggest cable TV operator in Mexico with 2.2 million pay TV subscribers, will now be able to increase their services in the city of Guanajuato.
The introduction of the Huawei Hybrid Solution will boost Megacable’s service offering in a number of ways. Their subscribers will benefit from new services such as a digital video recorder, catch-up TV, fast channel change and other interactive services like accessing Facebook and Twitter through their television sets.
The Huawei Hybrid Video Solution is revolutionizing the fiber to the home network for Megacable customers. The Internet Protocol solution will enable Megacable when partnered with telecommunications operators to evolve from their current deployment via chimney pipes to a unified solution. The convergent solution provides better coverage and is capable of supporting Internet Protocol TV over a managed network, over the top services in an un-managed network, Hybrid DVB-C and multi-screen services. Looking to the future it will underpin any developments on their existing Hybrid fibre-coaxial network.
This transformation will enable Megacable to provide customers with a better experience, compete with multi-service operators and reduce their operational costs.
