Kyrgyzstan begins DVB-T2 broadcasting

Kyrgyztelekom has announced that it has begun DVB-T2 terrestrial broadcasting in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The terrestrial network will be rolled out in phases. Coverage in Phase I will be 59% of the inhabitants of the Republic, stage II (July 2015) – 79%, stage III (November 2015) – 88%, and stage IV (September 2016) – 95%.
The DVB-T2 broadcasting equipment tender was won by Kvant-Efir, with DVB-S2 satellite capacity being provided by Eutelsat.
