ADB’s new platform for nc+

GENEVA, Switzerland — Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) [SIX: ADBN] today announced that nc+, the most technologically advanced Polish satellite operator, has selected ADB’s new platform, set-top box software, and associated software integration services to underpin its multi-room and multi-screen strategy.

nc+, an ADB customer since 2006, chose ADB to create the next generation product (line), which began deployment this month, becoming the first ADB customer to go live with the new wifi-satellite STB – the ADB-4740SF.

The device comes with high definition user interface, which has been customized for the operator. The solution has a built-in Wi-fi, allowing wireless access to nc+ go TV and other OTT services. Users can use an integrated hard disk drive to record programs and use time-shift functionality.

“Our focus is on providing the best possible entertainment experience to our customers. ADB, a long-term partner, has the combination of software integration expertise and leading edge technology that we need to deliver innovative and compelling services. We’re excited to be continuing our relationship with ADB for this new launch. ADB has been very active from the outset in tailoring this product to our specific requirements as well as ensuring that it will fit with our future expectations via regular remote upgrades,” said Jarosław Kordalewski, Executive Vice-President for IT&Technology at nc+.

“We are proud that we can continue our long-term cooperation with nc+ and deliver the next generation solution. nc+ is at the forefront of pay-TV innovation and consequently recognizes the need to work with experienced partners to maintain this momentum. We excel at removing the complexity associated with digital TV development, helping operators such as nc+ to deliver cost-effective, market-leading solutions and services that are very attractive to subscribers,” said Peter Balchin, CEO at ADB.
